Ancient Greek Architecture Systems – Assignment PointThis is a picture of the different styles of the famous columns in Greece. The Doric style is pretty sturdy and is plain at the top. The Ionic style is thinner and more elegant and has a scroll-like design at the top. Finally, the Corinthian style is rarely used in the Greek world but often seen in Roman temples, it is very elaborate and decorated with acanthus leaves.

It would hold events such as gladiatorial fights, hunts, wild animal fights, and larger fights such as naval battles when the arena was flooded with water. The gladiators themselves were usually slaves, criminals, or prisoners of war. Occasionally, the gladiators were able to fight for their freedom and criminals who were sentenced to death were sometimes thrown into the arena unarmed to serve their sentence.

    Well, your image of the three styles of Greek columns was a brilliant choice. But the Roman Colosseum isn't Greek, it's... um... Roman. Oops!

My essay question would be this: What was your favorite topic of Greece and explain why. In the first paragraph, I would talk about my favorite topic being gods and goddesses as well as my two favorites, Aphrodite and Poseidon.
