quiz on athenian democracy, socrates, and a message to Garcia
- an idiot in Athenian democracy was someone who was characterized by self-contentedness and concerned almost exclusively with private as to opposed to public-affairs
- in Athenian democracy, idiots were born and citizens were made through education
- declining to take part in public life, such as democratic government of the polis (city state) was considered dishonorable
- the unexamined life is not worth living -Socrates
In class today, we talked about the quiz we are having tomorrow. I think there are going to be questions about the main people and events that occurred in the time periods we studied. I think there are also going to be questions about the book Elbert Hubbard wrote like how many languages it was written in and the amount of copies were sold. I think the bonus question is going to have something to do with Elbert Hubbard. I also think the fill in the blank answers are going to just be names and years.
