Another Girl
She sits in the nook of our hearts,
some further in the depths than others.
Alas, her beauty can still swoon the hearts of many,
enticing you to want more than just a glance.
She makes you envy the winds who still witness her.
Those luminescent eyes of hers making a path for you to follow,
yet you don't.
Is it because the language of her was beaten out of you at a young age?
Or maybe it was because of the aftermath of the one that got away.
Not caring,
you tend to break her in like shoes.
Deciding not to stroll down the path she lit with her fiery red locks,
taking advantage of her generosity.
You took another trail and she wanted you still,
yet she deserved someone who was willing to stay.
She will give you many chances time and time again,
yet she is still never good enough for you to travel down her path.
Nevertheless,
she will fight every war to get that spot she so righteously deserves.

Good To Begin Well, Better To End Well: Oh, Aphrodite!
This is supposed to be answering the title question as well as describing Aphrodite since she is the goddess of love. its supposed to portray both of the sides of love: the passion and the pain; while it portrays both of the sides of Aphrodite: the goddess of love, beauty, and please and the goddess warrior. Aphrodite is represented by her or she in the poem.

  1. Wow, Kenzie. This poem is filled with some vivid images. I get the feeling you have written some poetry before. John Carroll has a Creative Writing class that you would probably enjoy. Great work.
