Different maps

So today in class we learned about different types of maps and the differences between them. You hung three maps on the board and we had to write down things that made them different and unique. Map A was a map of the United States. This map had highways, transportation and number routes, cities, and capitals. This map would be mostly used for traveling across the country on a road trip for example. Map B was a Peter's map. This showed a map of the whole world but didn't have the correct sizes of some countries. It emphasized specific countries such as North and South America. Map C was a Mercator map. This means it is a closer and more accurate map unlike Peter's map. It is also a better representation of the realistic sizes of the countries and continents. At the end of class we watched a rather weird episode of a boring t.v. show. The show talked about how the Mercator map was incorrect and should be used more often than Peter's map.
