cyber day #9
1.) Tragedy: a serious drama about common themes such as love, hate, war, and betrayal. These drama mainly featured a main character and a tragic hero. The hero is the most important character that is gifted with inhuman-like abilities, but some type of tragic flaw causes their downfall. At the time, there were three notable dramatists that wrote tragedies: Aeschylus- wrote more than 80 plays, most famous work is the trilogy (Oresteia), and his plays examine the idea of justice. Sophocles- wrote more than 100 plays, including Oedipus the King and Antigone. Euripides- the author of Medea, which features strong women.
Comedy: contains scenes filled with slapstick situations and crude humor. Usually made fun of politics and respected people and ideas of the time. Aristophanes- wrote the first great comedy, including The Birds and Lysistrata.
2b.) My favorite show that I usually watch a lot is That 70's Show. This show definitely represents the production of comedy because while it addresses some of the social issues from the 1970's, it does it in comedic way to relieve the tension the issues bring. Some of the comedic relief used is That 70's Show as well as the Greek production is demonstrated through insults, catchphrases, and running gags.

Good description of comedy/tragedy, nice comparison of That 70's Show to Greek drama. But... you forgot to write a few sentences to describe the Greek theater image. Oops!
